Below are some activities that will take place in the area during the July 4th holiday week. Trinity Mission of Italy presents “Ms. Stars & Stripes,” a senior citizens beauty pagent on Thursday, July 1st, 2:30pm, Texas Theater, on the square in downtown Waxahachie. Residents from local nursing homes and assisted living facilities will compete to see who has the most crace, charm, and inner beauty in Ellis County. Free Admission. The Midlothian Parks & Recreation Advisory Board and Midlothian Parks & Recreation Department proudly present its Annual Independence Day Parade on Saturday, July 3, 2010. Line up is 9:00am, parade begins at 10:00am. Click to download the Registration form and view the Parade Route. Deadline to register is Friday, June 25, 4:00pm. Participants are encouraged to use the theme “Celebration of Independence” to decorate. Awards will be given to the “Best Use of Theme” and “Most Creative.” Citizens National Bank of Texas is sponsoring the Midlothian Fireworks Display at
dusk (@9:30pm) on Saturday, July 3, 2010. The fireworks will be launched from the Midlothian ISD Multi-Purpose Stadium, 1800 S. 14th Street, at the corner of Hwy 287 Bypass. Yoga 4 Love is hosting “Playful Yoga For Families:” Fun, Laughter Inspired Yoga! Yoga 4 Love is hosting Outdoor Yoga for Freedom and Independence on Saturday, July 3rd at Rocky Falls, Ovilla. 10:30am – 11:00am – Yoga on the creek; 11:00am – 11:45am – Yogini Mixer/Brunch. We will have a short asana practice by the waterfall honoring our country and freedom. Before it gets heated up we will head up for Mimosas, and snacks! Life Church hosting Freedom Celebration at the MISD Multi-Purpose Stadium, July 3rd, 5-10pm. All attractions and contests are free. Activities Include Texas’ largest inflatable Water Slide, Bungee Trampolines, Rock Climbing Wall, 75′ Zip Line, Indiana Jones Multi-Level Obstacle Course, King Kong Triple Slide, Multiple Bounce Houses, Watermelon Eating Contest… Come early and bring the family, and stay to watch Ellis County’s Premier Firework Show provided by CNB.
